Design automation company EDA launch iBlueprint, a Web-based technology that enables product manufacturers to develop interactive Web sites for customers to design, review, and download engineering blueprints that are ready for production. The system uses proprietary engineering design technology from the company and allows users to streamline the product drawing, ordering, and production process.
Madison Miner, chief engineer for EDA, said the system has the potential to radically change the process by which custom products are designed and produced. "By creating a dynamic interface, product manufacturers can now give their customers the power to create individual blueprints in less time, with just a click of the mouse," Miner said.
