Danfoss will receive an Innovative Star of Energy Efficiency Award from The Alliance to Save Energy at its Stars of Energy Efficiency awards dinner on Sep. 14, 2010.
Danfoss, a global supplier of HVAC components and controls, was awarded for a number of recent products designed to advance energy efficiency, including the patented Ecoflow valve, performance VSD compressor, and ERC102 control.
The Ecoflow valve achieves balanced distribution of refrigerant in air-conditioning systems and avoids misdistribution in evaporator circuits. The VSD compressor enhances efficiency and environmental safety while reducing noise emissions, leading to energy savings of up to 35% compared to other available compressor technologies. The ERC102 is designed to cut energy consumption in global commercial refrigeration appliances and can save approximately 35% of energy costs on a standard one-door glass door merchandiser.
