Outdoor power equipment OEM Husqvarna will close its plant in Beatrice, NE, U.S., and move production to its plant in Orangeburg, SC. Husqvarna has previously stated it intended to make a number of structural changes to help improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The Beatrice plant primarily assembles zero turn radius lawn mowers. The plant in Orangeburg makes similar products including riding garden tractors and tillers.
The Beatrice plant will close in the second half of 2010.
Husqvarna also previously announced its intent to close a plant in Greece.
