Electronic Component Orders Keep Rising May 25, 2010

Electronic component orders kept rising in April, according to the monthly order index compiled by the Electronic Components Association (ECA). The April upswing comes after a significant jump in March. The 12-month average, comparing this year's results to last year's, continued an ascent that began last summer.

ECA's monthly report consolidates order information collected in confidence from leading electronic component manufacturers, almost all of which are reporting higher orders than at this time last year.

"Manufacturers have been riding a modest wave over the last nine months," says Bob Willis, ECA president. "It's no tsunami, but it's certainly welcome after a stagnant or receding market during the previous two years."
