The Bosch Group has become a member of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX(R)), the world's first and North America's only voluntary, legally binding greenhouse gas emissions reduction, registry, and trading program. In joining, Bosch has committed to achieve a 6% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions at its U.S. operations by 2010, from a baseline of the company's average greenhouse gas emissions in the year 2000. The company makes household appliances, power tools and accessories, security technology, and other products. It employs approximately 25,000 associates in more than 80 locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
"Bosch is deeply committed to environmental stewardship and developing innovative, renewable energy technologies that save energy and reduce CO2 emissions," said Peter Marks, chairman, president and CEO, Robert Bosch LLC. "By joining CCX and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, we are further demonstrating this commitment which is at the heart of Bosch's core philosophy."
