Several U.S. appliance OEMs will be exhibiting at the 47th annual Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), taking place at Chicago’s McCormick Place Apr. 16‐18, 2010.

KBIS is expected to have almost 700 total exhibitors and co‐exhibitors, and attendance is expected to be 30,000 – 35,000, topping 2009 attendee numbers.

Appliance names at KBIS will include Whirlpool's Jenn-Air brand, GE Appliances, Fisher & Paykel, Liebherr, and TurboChef. Some OEM highlights:

GE will exhibit its pilot line of smart‐grid enabled appliances, including the Hybrid Water Heater that is now available at retail in the U.S. GE will follow-up the water heater with smart-grid ready refrigerators, microwaves, and ranges.

Whirlpool's Jenn-Air brand will exhibit the Trifecta dishwasher and other products in this luxury appliance line. The dishwasher's variable speed motor adjusts to save energy and reduce noise.

Fisher & Paykel will exhibit its 36-inch side by side Energy Star refrigerator, the latest edition to its DCS brand of products. A tri‐sensor control system is intended to offer unparalleled food care.

TurboChef operates in both commercial and residential oven markets, and it looked as if the residential business might be scaled back when the business was acquired by commercial foodservice equipment giant Middleby in 2008. However, TurboChef will be exhibiting its 30-inch residential double wall Speedcook Oven at KBIS. These dual ovens feature a top and bottom cook cavity, with the top featuring the company's patented Airspeed technology to prepare food up to 15 times faster than a conventional oven.

True Refrigeration is another OEM primarily serving the commercial market but also offering residential appliances. At KBIS True will exhibit the Private Reserve Wine Cabinet with a refrigeration system designed to hold the desired temperature within plus or minus 1°.

Kobe Range Hoods will be exhibit its CH‐122 SQB Series Multi‐Style Hood, designed to blend into any kitchen whether used in an under cabinet or wall mount style. The 6-inch high hood offers four speeds. QuietMode technology, and halogen lights.

Danby will exhibit its DDW1899BLS dishwasher with a built-in water softener system.

Liebherr will be debut the CS 2060 and HC 2060 36-inch single door refrigerators at KBIS. As part of Liebherr’s larger capacity product line, the units have a dual refrigeration system with separate variable speed compressors for the refrigerator and the freezer.

Kuppersbusch USA will exhibit a signature product, the Honeycomb Cooktop, which can be fitted into any countertop material. Each honeycomb is controlled by one centrally positioned honeycomb with sensor touch controls that allow for programmable cooking times for up to 99 minutes.
