NEC Electronics and Renesas Unveil Post-Merger Organizational Structure Mar 16, 2010

Today a new organizational structure and personnel changes were announced for Renesas Electronics Corp., the company created when NEC Electronics and Renesas Technology complete their merger integration on April 1, 2010. Both companies said they obtained approvals from relevant antitrust authorities.

The new Renesas Electronics will be structured with seven business units conducting business operations and technology development as well as 10 staff units. The seven business units are:
• Sales Management Unit
• 1st SoC Business Unit responsible for businesses in industrial and imaging such as digital cameras, printers, and game consoles
• 2nd SoC Business Unit promoting SoC business for home multimedia, including portable devices and digital consumer electronics
• MCU Business Unit, handling microcontroller (MCU) business
• Analog & Power Devices Business Unit to promote businesses such as power devices, mixed signal ICs (Integrated circuits incorporating both digital and analog functions), display systems, optical and microwave devices
• Technology Development Unit
• Production and Technology Unit that is in charge of developing production plans and technology development and investment plans, as well as, manufacturing management of the company’s plants and manufacturing affiliates
