Fisher & Paykel Appliances, along with its DCS by Fisher & Paykel brand, will focus on "brand emersion" at this year's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show in Chicago.
F&P started in 1934 as a small manufacturer in New Zealand making designs under license. By the 1990s, when it began a major expansion in the North American markets, it had become a developer of several innovative and unique appliance technologies. The company's design leadership is best known for the F&P Dish Drawer dishwasher.
DCS, on the other hand, started out in 1987 as California-based Dynamic Cooking Systems, making cooking appliances as a contract manufacturer for Thermador. By 1991 the company was manufacturing ultra-premium outdoor cooking appliances, primarily outdoor grills. The company expanded into high-end, commercial-style indoor ranges, cooktops, and ovens through the 1990s. F&P acquired DCS in late-2004.
