Miele (Princeton, NJ, U.S.) launched its 4212 Neptune vacuum cleaner in turquoise, a hue that was just named Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2010.
Color authority Pantone, a provider of professional color standards for design industries, called turquoise “an inviting, luminous hue” when naming it color of the year for 2010.
“Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of well-being,” Pantone added.
“Our vacuums have long been iconic symbols for design, style and performance,” said Nadine Gast, senior product manager for Miele. She added that, while Neptune’s color may invoke a sense of emotional well being, its cleaning prowess and advanced filtration will improve the home’s hygiene as well as its air quality.
Like all its products, German-based Miele builds the Neptune to a 20-year life design protocol.
