Godrej Doubles Q3 Consolidated Net Jan 26, 2010

Indian appliance maker Godrej Consumer Products reported that consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009 surged to Rs.85.12 crore (approx. U.S. $18.4 million) from Rs.40.06 crore (approx. U.S. $8.7 million) in the same quarter last year. Total income increased to Rs.528.64 crore (approx. U.S. $114 million) from Rs.353.92 crore (approx. U.S. $76.6 million) in the year ago quarter.

On a standalone basis, the net profit grew to Rs.56.17 crore (approx. U.S. $12.2 million) in the third quarter ended December 31, 2009 compared to Rs.38.92 crore (approx. U.S. $8.4 million) in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income increased to Rs.326.29 crore (approx. U.S. $70.6 million) from Rs.284.57 crore (approx. U.S. $61.6 million) in the year ago quarter.
