Arcelik TVs Win Good Design Award Jan 21, 2010

Grundig, a consumer electronics brand of Turkish appliance maker Arçelik, has received the Good Design award from The Chicago Athenaeum for its NEO 40-in. LED TV.

In the 2009 Good Design contest, the Neo LED TV was judged on its unique design concept in addition to criteria such as technology, aesthetics, quality, and functionality. Grundig also won a Good Design award in 2008 for its Chameleon 2 18.5-in. LCD TV.

With a thickness of minimum 15 mm and maximum 36.5 mm, the Grundig NEO 40” LED TV is designed to look more like a decorative piece of domestic life than an electronic device.

The TV, which was released in December 2009, also offers full HD quality of 1920 x 1080 p resolution and uses 100 Hz technology to allow for superior flow of moving images. Other features include recording digital broadcasts to USB, pausing live broadcast – “Time Shift”, receiving digital terrestrial and cable broadcast, and playing HD content via USB 2.0.
