The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) recognized LG Electronics' excellence in design and technology with 15 2010 International CES® Innovations Awards, including "Best of" recognition in the Online Audio/Video Content category.
LG mobile phones, home appliances, business solutions and home electronics products were honored with awards in nine highly-competitive categories: Eco-Design and Sustainable Technology, Video Displays, Online Audio/Video Content, Video Components, Audio Components, Home Networking, High-Performance Audio, Home Appliances and Wireless Handsets.
"Earning more than 100 CES Innovations Awards in just seven years underscores LG's leadership in innovation, high performance and design," said Peter Reiner, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA. "This industry recognition reflects our dedication to providing consumers with something better by combining intelligent features and intuitive functionality with sleek and stylish design."
LG's honorees for the 2010 awards include LCD, LED LCD and plasma HDTVs, Network Blu-ray Disc players and Home Theater Systems, mobile phones, home appliances, and network attached storage. Innovations singled out by the judges include LG's NetCast Entertainment Access(TM) system for Internet-delivered video content and LG's Full LED Slim backlight LCD technology.
In the Home Appliances category, the company won awards for its Upright Bag-less Vacuum Cleaner LUV300, which a motorized dust compression system, and the 4-Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator LMX28994ST (pictured above), which features auto open/close freezer drawers and an upper freezer drawer that converts from a freezer to refrigerator compartment.
CES Innovations Awards are selected annually by a panel of industry designers, engineers, and journalists who judge product entries on criteria including user value, aesthetics, innovative design, quality and contributions to quality of life. Sponsored by CEA and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America, the CES Innovations Awards highlight product advancements in technology design and engineering.
