Steel Industry Executives Achieve LEED AP Accreditation Aug 12, 2009

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) announced that Dr. Helen Chen, P.E., manager of Construction Standards Development; and Jonathan Humble, AIA, regional director-Construction Codes and Standards, have achieved LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) accreditation in the specialty of Building Design + Construction. LEED accreditation is managed by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), and demonstrates knowledge of the LEED Green Building rating system.

The LEED AP Building Design + Construction specialty demonstrates an individual’s expertise in the principles and requirements of "green" design, construction, and operation of buildings and structures. The accreditation also demonstrates an individual’s knowledge and skills that are necessary to assist others (such as building owners, design professionals, and contractors) in the LEED certification process.
