According to resin statistics released Wednesday by the American Plastics Council (APC), U.S. production of plastic resin totaled 6.9 billion lb in March 2003, a 0.3-percent increase over the same month last year. The APC also reports that March 2003 production was up 9.0 percent from February 2003 and year-to-date production for 2003 totaled 19.9 billion lb, up 1.6 percent from 2002.
According to the statistics, sales and captive (internal) use of plastic resins in March 2003 combined for a total of 6.7 billion lb, a 0.6-percent increase from March 2002. Monthly sales and captive use were up 2.6 percent while year-to-date numbers were up 1.4 percent over 2002. Back
