Manufacturing Falls in May Jun 17, 2009

Industrial production in the U.S. fell 1.1%, said a Federal Reserve report. Production at U.S. factories, mines, and utilities has fallen for seven straight months, the report said. Output also fell 0.7%.

Production of appliances, furniture and carpeting fell 1.1%, while production of home electronics declined 1.9%.
