The Wireless Power Consortium (The Consortium) announced four new members in its effort to set a universal standard in wireless power: Duracell (US), Hosiden Corp. (Japan), Leggett & Platt, Inc. (US), and Samsung Electronics (South Korea).
The group said that consumer research shows that a universal standard in wireless power charging ranked within the top 20% of consumer lifestyle demands to eliminate the inconvenience of needing multiple chargers for different devices, brands and even models of the same brand.
