A. O. Smith Water Products Company launched software that provides engineers with access to 3D building information modeling (BIM) of its commercial water heater and boiler products. Autodesk Revit allows an engineer to download the 3D Revit models to be inserted into their building model or drawings.
Each Revit product family file allows the selection of the individual model and its associated database of critical installation information. Downloads are available at www.hotwater.com/lit/revit.html. Future plans include making the A. O. Smith files available from the Autodesk "Seek Site" where product models can be directly accessed from within the Revit program.
Revit models are currently available for the company's Cyclone Xi (BTH), VF Boiler (VW / VB), Master-Fit, (BTR) and the Gold Series (DRE) product families.
