Ductless split systems increased in 1Q 2009 in Canada, according to the Manufacturers Division of the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI). Shipments increased by 24%, HRAI said. However, sectors showing decreases included residential air-conditioning shipments (down 33%), chiller bookings (down 24%), commercial air-conditioning shipments (down 18%), unit heater shipments (down 13%), and residential furnace shipments (down 6%).
