BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH sold its Brazil business to the Mexican based, Latin American appliance manufacturing group Mabe. The deal is effective July 1st, 2009. The sale covers the production and distribution of BSH’s household appliances in Brazil, but does not extend to other Latin American markets.

BSH has been active in Brazil since 1994 and operates the Parque Industrial in Hortolândia with a factory for free-standing cookers, a factory for refrigerators, and a logistics center. BSH distributes the appliances produced in the factories on the Brazilian market under the Bosch and Continental brand names. BSH employs 1500 people in Brazil.

The sale comprises the entire company BSH Continental with all its activities and employees in Brazil. The sale includes the factories and the logistics center in Hortolândia as well as the sales, after sales, and distribution operations and the Continental brand.
