Retail Industry Association to Merge Apr 23, 2009

The National Retail Federation and the Retail Industry Leaders Association will merge to create a single trade association representing retail interests.

The new organization (as yet unnamed) was formed to enhance value to both organizations’ members and help to ensure that the retail industry speaks with one voice to advance the industry and to represent its more than 15 million workers, according to a joint statement.

Completion of the merger is expected this summer.
