Briggs & Stratton Corp launched a web site (www.eddiegram.com) that helps consumers to send personalized messages to friends/neighbors bragging about their lawn or suggesting that others' lawns need help.

The animated Engine Eddie character on the web site will deliver messages via full speech capability. Users can choose from a number of pre-recorded options or type in their own. They will also be able to upload their own face on Engine Eddie.

"There is something in the DNA of Briggs & Stratton owners where they consider their yard's appearance as a reflection of themselves," said Anita S. Fisher, marketing communication manager, Briggs & Stratton. "We created the EddieGram program to give these people a venue to showcase their pride. And if they can help others shape up their lawns, even better."

Engine Eddie will become a familiar face in the coming months. Beyond EddieGram, he will be sharing lawn care tips in an April 2 satellite media tour. Engine Eddie is also hosting a contest on www.enginesmatter.com where people can win a lawn mower every week through the end of May.
