Orders to U.S. factories fell for a record sixth straight month in January, falling 1.9 percent, according to a Commerce Department report. Orders for durable goods dropped by 4.5% in January. In addition, orders were down sharply for primary metals such as steel, heavy machinery including turbines, and generators and for computers.
