Fisher & Paykel Closes Brisbane Factory Apr 7, 2009

Fisher & Paykel finished closing its Brisbane, Australia refrigerator factory, having completed the relocation of manufacturing to Thailand and Reynosa, Mexico. The closing was announced a year ago and 300 jobs were lost in Brisbane. As APPLIANCE wrote in April 2008, F&P bought the Reynosa plant from Whirlpool Corp. The 60-acre plant makes side-by-side refrigerators.
