Miele Recognized with 2008 Good Design Awards Jan 12, 2009

Miele won three Good Design Awards for its G 2002 La Perla dishwasher, Miele built-in CVA 4061/4066 coffee system, and KM 5700 induction cooktop.

The Good Design Award is presented each year by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design. Recipients are recognized for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product and graphic designs produced around the world.

A jury of designers selected Miele’s dishwasher, coffee, and induction cooktop as examples of distinct design.

Miele’s La Perla series dishwasher is designed with a Turbo feature that speeds up wash programs by up to 15%. The dishwasher is also equipped with SensorDry drying system. It will be available in February, retailing for an estimated US$2,500.

The CVA 4061/4066 Coffee System has a central dispenser that is height-adjustable to fit espresso cups, tall mugs, or decorative glasses for specialty drinks. An insulated tank made of double-walled stainless steel can hold up to 24 oz. of milk, keeping it cool up to 12 hours and allows one-touch preparation of steamed milk and froth drinks. The coffee system will be available in March.

The KM 5700 Induction Cooktops has features, including timing functions, multiple power boosters, cookware recognition, and auto heat programs. The power boosters reduce cooking times by raising the temperature setting to its maximum for 10-minute intervals. The induction cooktops are currently available and priced between $2,299 to $2,799.
