Electrolux Home Care Products has joined the SmartWaySM Transport Partnership, a voluntary collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight industry designed to increase energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.
As a member of the SmartWay Transport Partnership program, EHCP must show significant, measurable air quality and/or greenhouse gas improvements while maintaining or improving current levels of other emissions and/or pollutants. The company also agrees to employ a proven mechanism to quantify benefits and a verifiable reporting mechanism.
Launched in 2004, the SmartWay brand identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related emissions and also signifies a pledge by government, businesses and consumers alike to protect the environment, reduce fuel consumption and improve air quality. SmartWay focuses on market-driven, rather than regulatory, methods, and is maintained by the EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality.
