AHAM Urges Congress To Approve Financial Rescue Bill Quickly Oct 1, 2008

The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) today called on Congress and the President to quickly enact a financial rescue plan. AHAM president Joseph M. McGuire offered the following statement: "The appliance industry represents America's economy at its core. We produce consumer products that are essential to everyday life, we employ thousands of people, including critical manufacturing jobs at our factories and those of our suppliers and we contribute substantially to energy efficiency. Yet, our supply chain, from raw materials to consumer purchases, is at risk without order being brought to our nation's credit system. We implore our elected leaders in Washington, for the good of the country, to reach agreement this week on a bill."
