The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Bissell as a partner in its Design for the Environment program.
The designation means that all of Bissell’s full-size, deep-cleaning formulas will be allowed to display the program’s logo. The partnership involves a screening of each ingredient in the formulas by the Design for the Environment program’s scientific-review team, which checks each ingredient for potential human-health and environmental effects. The designation also allows Bissell to work with EPA chemists, environmental scientists and others in investigating materials that can improve the environmental impact of the company’s products.
Among the products now permitted to sport the logo are Bissell’s 3X line of cleansing formulas, its Fiber Cleansing Formula, the Multi-Allergen Removal Formula, the Lavender Essence Fiber Cleansing Formula, the natural Orange Extract Formula and the Pet Odor and Soil Removal Formula.
