European Commission Approves Ingersoll Rand's Acquisition of Trane Apr 14, 2008

The European Commission granted approval of the proposed acquisition of the company by Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited. All required antitrust approvals required under the agreement with Ingersoll Rand have now been received. In addition, Trane has set the close of business on April 23, 2008, as the record date for determining shareholders who will be entitled to vote on the acquisition. Trane shareholders are expected to vote on the acquisition at a special meeting to be scheduled later in the second quarter pending completion of a review by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission of the proxy statement/prospectus to be mailed to Trane shareholders.
