Midea Enters Thai Market Mar 27, 2008

Chinese home appliance maker Midea Group, one of the world's top three air-conditioner producers, has entered the Thai market as part of its goal to become a key player in Asia.

Midea Air-conditioning Equipment (Thailand) Co, established last year, will promote the brand and coordinate with MD Distributor, the local distributor, and the parent firm in China.

Midea Group began expanding its business in Asean three years ago, starting from Malaysia. It later set up an air-conditioning factory in Vietnam with an estimated two million units to be produced in 2010 to supply Asean and other markets. In addition, Midea has a presence in the Philippines and Indonesia. (Bangkok Post)
