Combined U.S. factory shipments of central air-conditioners and air-source heat pumps for October totaled 393,652, jumping 9% from October 2006, according to the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI).
Year-to-date combined U.S. factory shipments totaled 5.7 million, down 10% from the same period last year. Heat pump shipments for October totaled 117,224, down 4% compared with October 2006 shipments. Year-to-date heat pump shipments totaled 1,661,484, down 11% from the same period last year.
