Trane announced its participation in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Climate Leaders program, pledging to reduce company-wide greenhouse gas emissions.
"We are pleased to join the Climate Leaders program as part of our ongoing commitment to energy efficiency," said Fred Poses, chairman and CEO of Trane. "Reducing energy usage is the foundation for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. At Trane, we build on that foundation every day with energy-efficient systems and services for our customers. With the Climate Leaders program, we will reinforce our continuing commitment to those principles for our own operations."
In joining the Climate Leaders program, Trane is broadening its commitment to facilitate lower energy consumption by its customers. The company was one of the first four energy services companies to participate in the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), a program launched by former President Bill Clinton to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in 40 of the world's largest cities.
