The Manitowoc Company Inc. said that 2Q earnings rose 37% on stronger overseas demand for its construction equipment unit and strength in its marine division. The company reported 2Q earnings of US$133.9 million, or $1.01 per share, up from $97.5 million. Earnings from the food service equipment division grew 2%, despite a dip in sales. The company said its planned acquisition of Enodis is still expected to close during the fourth quarter.
