Fujitsu Profit Falls 62% Nov 26, 2007

Japanese electronics company Fujitsu reported a 62% drop in profit for the July-September quarter. The company posted a group net profit of 5.44 billion yen (approx. US$50 million) for the three months through September. Quarterly sales grew 6.9% to 1.346 trillion yen ($12.38 billion). Fujitsu said its performance was hurt by an increase in taxes in the UK due to a write-down of assets that came about from a change in the tax rate there.

Fujitsu's sales were healthy in a range of sectors, including servers, personal computers, and hard disk drives, the company said. (AP)
