AHAM Debuts Heater Safety Campaign Nov 9, 2007

The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and some portable electric heater manufacturers have launched a campaign to educate consumers about the safe operation of portable electric heaters. The campaign was developed to reduce the nearly 3,000 portable heater fires that occur each year often due to improper use. AHAM teamed with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) to promote portable electric heater safety. The campaign will run primarily during December, January, and February.
