Combined A/C, Heat Pump Shipments Up From Sept. 2006 Nov 7, 2007

Combined U.S. factory shipments of central air-conditioners and air-source heat pumps for September totaled 527,516, up 4.7% from September 2006, according to the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI). Year-to-date combined U.S. factory shipments totaled 5.3 million, down 10.8% from the same period last year.

Heat pump shipments for September totaled 156,617, down 3.4% compared with September 2006 shipments. Year-to-date heat pump shipments totaled 1,544,260, down 11.6% from the same period last year.
