LG Electronics will start a new business to help customers improve energy efficiency. An energy consultancy, to be launched next year, will work with customers through the entire process of establishing an energy system for public buildings, from suggestion to planning, ordering, operational supervision and maintenance of the energy system.
LG said that by 2010 it expects to increase its commercial air-conditioner sales by 50%. The company has already developed Hybrid COGEN, which simultaneously generates electricity and heat by using liquefied natural gas, and can be used in a variety of products. The system uses 32% less energy while reducing the emission of environmental pollutants such as CO2 gas.
