Gorenje Plans to Raise Sales Revenues, Profit in 2007 Dec 28, 2006

Gorenje plans to end 2006 with 1.07 billion euros (approx. U.S. $1.3 billion) of sales revenues, up 5.8 percent over 2005, according to Slovene Press Agency STA. The group's profit for 2006 is meanwhile projected at 22.1 million euros (approx. $28 million), a 3.6 percent increase over 2005.

The agency also reports that Gorenje has posted its projections for sales revenues and profit in 2007. The former are to stand at 1.2 billion euros (approx. $1.6 billion) and the latter at over 23 million euros (approx. $30 million).

With the opening of two Serbian subsidiaries, the group projects 10,853 employees by the end of the year, 3.1 percent more than now. The group's core company, home appliance maker Gorenje, will meanwhile employ 5,434 people by the end of 2007, says the agency.

In 2007 Gorenje's priorities include securing growth of sales revenues and increasing profitability. While looking for alternative suppliers in the market to guarantee its competitive edge, the company will also continue developing new products and services, the agency adds.
