Lennox International Inc. announced plans to close its hearth products operations in Lynwood, CA, U.S. and consolidate its U.S. factory-built fireplace manufacturing operations in its facility in Union City, TN. Lennox Hearth Products manufactures and markets Lennox, Superior, and Security brand factory-built fireplaces, stoves and other hearth products and accessories for the residential new construction and remodeling markets.
The consolidation will be a phased process and is expected to be completed by the end of second quarter 2008, with a projected cost of approximately US$5 million. The company expects the consolidation to lead to annual cost reductions of more than $2 million beginning in April 2008.
