Videocon, the Indian consumer electronics and durable goods manufacturer, is renewing discussions to acquire South Korea's Daewoo Electronics.
Discussions stalled after a consortium led by Videocon sought a discount on the initial bidding price of US$752 million. Videocon signed a preliminary agreement last year to acquire Daewoo, but the deal fell through after the discount request was denied.
Daewoo has six manufacturing plants in South Korea and 18 others around the world. (EETimes)
