Philips has won 18 Innovations Awards and a Best of Innovations Award from the Consumer Electronics Association, the awards program that precedes the annual, international Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas in January. Judged by an independent panel of journalists, designers and engineers, the awards recognize the most innovative consumer electronics products in 31 categories and have become a hallmark for the best designed products in consumer technology.
Philips took multiple awards in several categories. These included Audio Accessories, Electronic Gaming, Home Theater Accessories, Home Theater Audio, DECT and VoIP Telephones, and Video Displays. Here are just a few of the winning products.
The DECT Cordless Phone/Answering Machine, winner of a Best of Innovations Award, features a white backlit display for easy viewing and ClearVoiceHD. It also offers a SIM-card copying feature that lets users transfer their mobile phonebook to their home phone in a matter of seconds.
Home Theater products that picked up an award included the 42 inch LCD FlatTV, which combines Ambilight Full Surround, Pixel Plus 4HD and ClearLCD technologies for outstanding High-Definition viewing, and the one-piece home entertainment system, the HTS8100.
In the VOIP Telephones category, the VOIP3211G enables users to make free Skype calls, as well as make and receive normal landline calls, on a single handset.
And in the Electronic Gaming category, the amBX Premium Starter Kit combines ambient intelligence and the gaming experience to extend computer games beyond the screen into the real world by providing a full ‘sensory surround experience,’ one that adds light, color, sound, vibration, and even air effects to gameplay.
