European brands Miele and Bosch have been named as the most reliable brands of three major appliances--washing machines, dishwashers, and ovens--in a survey of more than 13,000 Choice magazine subscribers in Australia.  

The respondents were asked questions such as what brand of appliance they owned, when it was bought, whether it needed repairs in the previous 12 months, what the problems were, and whether they would buy the brand again.

The survey respondents also said that Miele and Bosch appliances are often among the best performers based on long-term usage.
