Taiwan-based Phemax Technologies, Inc. has developed DR-BOT, a multifunction robot for hospital isolation and infection control for diseases such as SARS/Bird Flu, real-time patient monitoring for Internet collaboration-teleconferencing, and telepresence/teleoperation robot healthcare and telemedicine service. The DR-BOT networks could be used in a wide variety of applications, including tele-nursing, patient sampling, X-ray film delivery, isolation rooms security, and cleaning.
