Daikin Aims to Be World's Top Air-Conditioner Seller

Daikin Industries Ltd. aims to become the world's top seller of air-conditioners by 2010 by expanding into the U.S. market, President Noriyuki Inoue said. Daikin hopes to dethrone Carrier Corp. as the world's top maker by 2010, Inoue said.

To this end, Daikin will develop air-conditioners for households and small and midsize stores for release on the U.S. market by summer 2008.

In 2008, Daikin hopes to achieve sales of10%f the U.S. market, mainly by using the sales channels of McQuay International, the officials said.
