Hewlett-Packard Co reported a 29% increase in quarterly profit for fiscal third quarter 2007. Net income rose to US$1.78 billion, or $0.66 per share, from $1.38 billion, or $0.48 per share, a year earlier.
Third-quarter revenue in HP's personal systems group, which includes PCs, rose 29% to $8.9 billion, while operating profit was $519 million, or 5.8% of revenue compared with 4% a year earlier.
In imaging and printing, revenue rose 8% to $6.8 billion.
