Fisher & Paykel has announced it is moving its Auckland electronic manufacturing plant to Thailand, saving the company US$6 million per year. It said it hopes the shift to Thailand will get the company back on par with competitors.
About 96 people will lose their jobs, and the company will work with staff to help them find work with other employers.
