Lenovo Group Ltd. said it is targeting lower-income consumers in China by offering a new PC with a suggested retail price of 1,499 RMB (US$198).
The computer maker is also offering PCs for 1,999 RMB ($264), 2,499 RMB ($330), and 2,999 RMB ($397), respectively. All four are designed to make computer ownership available to 3 million new, rural users. The least expensive model includes a keyboard, but is designed to be used with a television as its monitor.
