The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published reaffirmations of MG 10-2001 (R2007) Energy Management Guide For Selection and Use of Fixed Frequency Medium AC Squirrel-Cage Polyphase Induction Motors and MG 11-1977 (R1997, R2001, R2007) Energy Management Guide for Selection and Use of Single-Phase Motors.

Both standards provide information concerning the selection and application of motors. MG 10-2001 (R2007) includes typical characteristics of IEC Design H and N induction motors and information about the NEMA energy-efficient and NEMA Premium efficiency motor standards.
