Combined U.S. factory shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps for June totaled 947,268, up 3% from June 2006 shipments, according to the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI).
Year-to-date combined U.S. factory shipments totaled 3.6 million, down 13% from the same period last year.
Heat pump shipments for June totaled 244,618, down 0.4% from June 2006 shipments. Year-to-date heat pump shipments totaled 1 million, down 12% from the same period last year.
