Samsung has announced the introduction of its third-generation Blu-Ray Players that will be released this fall. The BD-P1400 and P2400 will have 1080p playback, and will upscale DVDs to 1080p resolution. Both players will have component, S-Video, and Composite outputs, Dolby Digital Plus and 5.1 optical output.
Samsung says it is marketing the P2400 as the higher-end player because of its Silicon Optix HQV chip that promises better upscaling and de-intelacing of DVD and Blu-Ray content.
The BD-P1400 will be available for US $500 in September, and the P2400 will sell for $650 in October.
