Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (Tokyo) said today that its subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics U.S.A. Inc. (MEUS) received a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division seeking information about the sales of static random access memory (SRAM) in the U.S.
Mitsubishi said it is unable to predict the impact the actions will have on business performance, and the company said it would not reassess the dividend policy and revised sales and earnings forecast for fiscal year 2007 (April 1, 2006 - March 31, 2007) as it announced on Sept. 19, 2006.
The SRAM business was spun off and transferred to Renesas Technology Corporation in April of 2003. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation holds a 45 percent interest in Renesas.
